What is dental sedation?
Dental sedation is the use of medication to help patients relax during dental procedures. It can be used for patients who experience dental anxiety or for patients who are undergoing long or painful dental procedures, such as a surgical tooth extraction.

Oral Sedation in Calgary
Oral sedatives come in pill or liquid form and are prescribed by your dentist in advance of a procedure or appointment. Oral sedation can range anywhere from minimal to moderate, depending on the dose that your dentist prescribes.
Oral sedation will leave you groggy and you may fall asleep during the procedure, but most people can be woken by a gentle shake.
The medication is taken in advance of your dental appointment, which means you must arrange for someone to drop you off at our dental clinic. Similarly, someone must pick you up afterward since the oral sedation may affect your memory and motor skills.
